Patrick Allen: I feel it is the nicest lodge in Thredbo

June 2013
Pocock family, Canberra We stayed at the Kiama Alpine Club Lodge with a big group of friends on the June long weekend. We had a very excited little two year old girl with us who was visiting the snow for the first time. She even brought a carrot with her for the snowman. The lodge was really comfortable for the family and very child friendly. We could not have been happier.

My husband and I held our wedding in Thredbo in March 2012 and filled the Kiama Alpine Lodge with family and friends. We also filled two nearby lodges with guests, all were within 50m from Kiama Lodge so this was the perfect arrangement for our group of 100 guests. Alex and I stay at the lodge in both Winter and Summer and we had no doubts in inviting our closest friends and family to stay as the lodge is always impeccably clean, organised and welcoming. We organise groups of friends to come with us and stay throughout summer and it is always the best weekends away. Hikes, biking, tennis, golf... then back to the lodge for a sauna, shower, and then a big cook up with lots of wine. Best lodge in Thredbo!

Sue & Len Westwood: We have been fortunate to stay (out of season) at Kiama Ski Lodge a couple of times recently and absolutely loved it. Sally & Rob, the managers, greeted us warmly and made us very welcome. The Lodge is most attractive with its view to the Crackenback Range, and we were impressed with the excellent use of space, especially the kitchen area. And snuggling in front of the open fire was a real treat.

Sandra Linolli, Southern Highlands Bushwalkers: A group from our bushwalking club stayed in March 2011 and had a wonderful time. Kiama Alpine Lodge was a perfect place to stay to enjoy the many walks of Thredbo and Kosciusko National Park. The special summer rates made it very affordable for our members. I’d love to make it an annual visit.

Marg Ewen, Southern Highlands Bushwalkers: I would like to say on behalf of all the “Southern Highlands Bushwalkers” who spent a few days at Kiama Alpine Lodge earlier this year that it was great and the access to all the walks in the area was so easy. We will return again, if not as a group then as individual persons. The “Lodge’ was really a surprise with everything possible available. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The managers made us feel welcome and were full of information about the area. It was a pleasure to stay there and I would recommend “Kiama Alpine Lodge” to anyone.

Matt & Satsuki Dening: Our summer visit to Thredbo was delightful, our young children had a ball with the resort activities and staying at the Kiama Ski Lodge was perfect for them and us. The kitchen dining area is vast and perfectly laid out, with room enough to enjoy your own space but also meet other guests and chat (or play games in the games room for the kids). The lodge manages to combine modern amenities and comfort with a real sense of alpine retreat and history – stone fireplace, timber furniture and lots of historical photos of Thredbo and the ski club from a different era. A wonderful experience and amazingly good value – we will be going back.
